It is Friday (yeah!) and this is one of the days that I’ve been actually waiting for since last year. Yes people, today is the day The Amazing Spiderman is released in the Philippines.
Luckily, I only have one class, a 1 PM to 2:30 PM class. I actually thought of missing that class because of the movie schedule that I reserved. I purchased one ticket (I am such a forever alone guy, I know) for the 4 PM screening of The Amazing Spiderman at IMAX Mall of Asia. I feared that I might not make it in time if I’ll attend my class. Good thing, the traffic was not that bad during that time so I kinda arrived on time for the movie. By the way, if you are wondering why I was so scared of the travelling time, well, that’s because I still come all the way from Laguna.
Oh well. I arrived at the theatre at around 4:05. I expected the movie to have started but hey, I forgot that I am in the Philippines, and as always, there will always be the effect of Filipino Time. I still got the time to buy my favorite milk tea from Gong Cha. So to say, the movie that was supposed to start at 4 PM started at around 4:20 PM.
The cinema is full! What would you expect? It is the first day of the one of the most anticipated movies of the year. I liked the vibe of this audience that I am with. So, the lights started to dim and man, The Dark Knight Rises trailer was freaking amazing in IMAX! I literally felt shivers down my spine! That just totally multiplied my excitement for that movie by epic proportions.
(Movie review is after the jump…)
I want to have a second viewing of Prometheus and if possible, in 3D but most of the cinemas in our place will either play Madagascar 3 in 3D or, worse, remove Prometheus from their line-up for this week. I mean, why? The nearest theatre where it would be available in 3D is in Southmall and it’ll only be in IMAX and I’ve already seen Prometheus in IMAX 3D. Seeing it again in that format is not an option because it’s costly and The Amazing Spiderman will be released 2 weeks from now so yea. Guess I’d just have to settle for 2D then…

(Should’ve been Disney/Pixar’s Brave but it doesn’t spark much interest yet so I am still undecided if I’ll see it in IMAX 3D or not. I might not even see it at all.)

(Luckily, there’s nothing to see during these months. I’ll have time to refill the contents of my wallet! haha)

SM Cinema just announced that The Hunger Games will show in their cinemas on March 22!
Last December, SM Cinema tweeted that The Hunger Games will be showing on Mar21, but that was not the definite day yet according to Pioneer, and they said it will either be 21 or 22. And with SM Cinema’s latest tweet, it seems, the release date is now Mar22! Still, a day early! ;)
Who will be watching on the first day? Thoughts?
MUST.RESERVE.AN.IMAX.TICKET.ASAP.

Can I just say how much I love this movie? I mean, it’s a no-brainer to say that there will be a lot of action in this movie because it’s Mission Impossible. But the action sequences, the story, the cinematography, and the characters. Man, it was great.
By the way, this fourth installment on the series is directed by Brad Bird. Yep, the man behind the successful movie by Disney/Pixar-The Incredibles. When I heard that Brad Bird will be involved in this project, I knew that this is something not to be missed. And I was right. The action was like multiplied by five. It really had the director’s signature moves, the opening credits alone is enough to prove what I am saying.
Tom Cruise and Simon Pegg revived their characters Ethan Hunt and Benji Dunn for this movie. Alongside are new to the cast, Jeremy Renner and Paula Patton as Brendt, and Jane, respectively. Addition to the cast are Lea Seydoux and Anil Kapoor among many others.
The movie begins at Russia, at a jail, where Jane and Dunn are on a mission to release Ethan to work on a larger mission. The mission is to infiltrate Kremlin and locate files identifying Cobalt. While on the mission, somebody intercepted their signals and framed the team which lead them to a larger conflict putting the IMF in jeopardy. From this, Ethan and his team had to fly all the way to Dubai, climb the walls of the towering Burj Khalifa and go to Mumbai to detract the launch of a nuclear missile.
Anyway, I’m gonna stop right there with the plot to avoid possible spoilers. So, yeah, this movie was presented in that format but I only watched it this evening at a regular cinema. I regret it. I should’ve watched it instead in IMAX to see the full glory of Burj Khalifa and drop my jaw on a certain scene. (Watch it and you’ll know what I mean ;D. ) The movie was fun, there are a lot of scenes that got me gripping the edge of my seat and made me say ‘wooooah!’, literally. Also, the characters are likable as ever. But Jeremy Renner’s character was the one that I liked the most. He’s funny, and odd. A great complement to Simon Pegg, he is ‘his helper’ by the way. He is a great addition to this franchise, I must say. Also, Lea Seydoux’s character is HOT! I like her fierceness. However, I find her exit a bit anti-climactic.
Overall, this is a fun movie. And it’s visually stunning. It was a great experience, something to be seen in the big screen, and in IMAX if you’ve got the extra budget for it. You want action? It’ll give you action. You want to travel? It’ll bring you to several places. You want to grip the edge of your seat? Watch it and you will. :)
(By the way, you might be noticing that I usually title my posts as ‘So…’, well, the reason behind it is that I can’t think of any other better titles to give my post. So here we go. LOL)
Today, is Tuesday. REAAAALLY? And I don’t have a class, and I was a little bored. I should’ve gone to the gym but my body is tired because I ran under the rain last night. So I decided to do something relaxing instead. And yeah, my options are only to hit the gym or see a movie. I checked SM Cinema’s site to see if there are any good movies to see today. And fuck yea, I remembered that they are re-releasing Tron Legacy. Yes, I do fucking love that movie. The graphics, fucking awesome. The soundtrack…EARGASM, baby, EARGASM. Daft Punk, fuck yea! I’ve always wanted to see Tron Legacy in IMAX 3D because I only saw it in regular 3D by the time it was released due to budget constraints. Hey, it was Christmas season! So there, I purchased the ticket online. I was a little worried because the movie will start at 12 pm and it’s already 11 am and the bus is still in Laguna. Luckily, there was no traffic or anything so I arrived at MOA at around 12:15. Yes, by this time I already wanted to break down because I have missed the fucking amazing electrified Walt Disney castle. Luckily, when I arrived at the lobby of IMAX-MOA, the cashier or attendant (I’m not really sure…) told me that they haven’t started the movie yet because the only person who reserved a seat online hasn’t arrived yet. And yes, that person is me. LOLOLOL. What a relief! While the attendant was guiding me inside the cinema, I had a little talk with her. She was fun to talk with. She even told me that, “Sir, di ka nag-iisa, mamaya may katabi ka na jan.” LOL. Sira-ulo si ate at tinakot pa ako. LOLOL. And yes, the movie started few minutes after I entered the cinema. It was like I rented the whole cinema just for that screening. LOL. Like a boss.
After the movie, I am not yet decided what to do next. I don’t want to go home yet because it is still too early. Sayang naman sa pamasahe. So I strolled around MOA even though there’s nothing new to see. And yea, I passed by Gong Cha. Since I am addicted to milk teas, I didn’t let this opportunity pass by. I read on Spot.ph that Gong Cha has the best milk tea in town today so I immediately tried it. I bought the large Gong Cha Earl Grey Milk Tea and yes, spell satisfaction. After I slurped the last drop of that huge beverage I decided to go home since I realized that I might run out of money if I decided to stay longer.
So…that’s it. A random post.
Uh, I can’t…I just can’t find the right words to describe how amazing the movie was. Perhaps, on Saturday, after I see it for the last time in the big screen, I might talk about the movie.
To cut things short, I am still in awe as of this moment. I just want to tell you people how amazing was Alan Rickman’s portrayal as Severus Snape on this movie. Prepare to bawl your eyes out at his scene cause I did. His acting, the editing, the movie, uh…The Prince’s Tale was done perfectly, I must say.
So that’s it for now. I’ll just post my full review on the movie on Saturday night after I see it in the newly opened IMAX Theatre at SM Southmall.

So yeah, it’s Thursday and everything went as planned. Nagpunta ako kanina sa MOA para manuod ng Transformers 3. Yes, para sa mga nakakakilala sa akin, weird na yung panuorin ko ang movie weeks after its release kasi madalas manuod ako day after the release or a week at least. Kaso, natapat ang showing ng Transformers 3 sa busy days. Kahit naman papaano, priority ko pa rin ang school kahit ‘petiks’ lang ako. LOL.
Last night, I bought my ticket at SM Cinema’s site. I picked the 10 am schedule and the seat number M23, same seat number when I watched Deathly Hallows part 1. I really don’t know what came up to me why I picked a schedule as early as that. I arrived there at around 11:45. I asked the girl at the counter if I can re-schedule my ticket to the 1:10 PM showing but she told that I can’t and that I have to enter the theater as soon as I print my bcode. I argued that it won’t be worth my money anymore but all she gave me was a

At first I was like

then she instructed me to just print my bcode and leave the line because there are still 3 more customers in line. The way she said it was so disrespectful so I kinda lost my temper and said in a not-so-loud-but-still-loud-enough-to-be-heard-by-the-people-behind-me, “Bitch!”
The people were surprised like

Actually, even I was surprised by what I’ve just said. I was about to say sorry but she annoyed me so I didn’t. I just left the line after she gave me the raffle stubs. After that, I printed the bcode on the machine. I decided to stroll at the Bay Area while waiting for the show. Yea, I still entered the theater for the 1:10 PM showing. It’s just that my seat was already taken. So I sat at E15, the same seat when I watched POTC 4.
With regards to the movie, all I can say was expectation met reality. I expected my mind to be blown away by the movie and the movie did it. The 3D was great. I loved most of the scenes especially that one where Josh Duhamel’s team did the skydiving. One word: WOW! For a typical blockbuster Bay movie, I’d say this one did fair enough as compared to the first two Transformers movie. And oh, the girl who played as Carly was hot. But her hotness didn’t made up for her lack of acting capacity. LOL, who am I to talk about this? The movie was fun. It was even emotional at some scenes up to the point where tears build up at the corner of my eyes. Those scenes were: the destruction of Chicago where Linkin Park’s Iridescent played along and the other was when the spaceship carrying the Autobots exploded. Ken Jeong’s cameo was amazing too.
And yes, I finally saw the IMAX version of Harry Potter’s trailer, it wasn’t 3D though. My childhood days are about to end soon, real soon.
So earlier this afternoon on our way to the lake, I was driving and my dad was sitting beside me. And out-of-nowhere, I started this conversation:
Me: Final Harry Potter na in 2 weeks.
Daddy: Ok, manunuod ka?
Me: Syempre. Baka sa Saturday on the week it was released.
Daddy: Saan naman? Sino kasama mo?
Me: Ewan. Baka ako lang, kakatamad mag-yaya. Sa IMAX.
Daddy: Sa MOA pa? Ang layo naman. Gastos sa pamasahe.
Me: Nope, may bubuksan na raw sa Southmall sa 14.
Daddy: Southmall? Sa Las Pinas?
Me: Oo. Malapit na lang. Mura lang sa pamasahe or sa gas kung papadala mo sa akin ang van.
Daddy: Edi Sunday na lang, 17. Baka sumama kami kung walang schedule.
Me: Eh? Okay.
Well, obviously, di kami madalas mag-usap ni daddy. LOL. BTW, it was nice to know that they will come with me in seeing the final Harry Potter movie. Si daddy kasi, most of the time, it was he who pays for the ticket. Although ang tanda kong last movie na pinanuod namin magkasama ay yung Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. So yun, another thing that makes it better is because it was I who planned on buying our tickets for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 in IMAX 3D. Plano ko, i-treat sila pero pag sumama sila, baka si daddy mang-treat. Pero, I don’t know kung manlilibre pa rin siya sa 17. Hopefully, manlibre nga. LOL But if not, ok lang, tuloy ang plano.

Finally! I finally have a DSLR. It’s a Canon Rebel T3 aka Canon 1100D. We bought it this afternoon at Henry’s Shop at Hidalgo. And oh, Hidalgo is really a camera haven. When I was at the ‘entrance’ of the street, all I saw were shops specifically for cameras and stuff. There were even some stalls having cameras displayed along the street! So yeah, my mom and I looked for Mayer Photo but we didn’t find it so we just ended up having a transaction at Henry’s. It was a good deal because they gave the bag and tripod with 50% discount.
I love this day! Though I would love it more if my plan was fully accomplished. If only we managed to see Transformers 3 in IMAX 3D after buying the camera then my day would be perfect. Too bad, the camera and the tripod were quite a load, my mom decided to go home straight after buying them. Oh well, maybe on Saturday or Wednesday I’ll have the chance to see T3 in IMAX 3D, only that I will be alone then. Fuck that, why am I always FOREVER ALONE everytime I am watching a movie in IMAX?

Meh. My mom and dad will be doing something next Sunday so our “family bonding” would be cancelled, rather moved on July where we’ll see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 in IMAX. However, I will still see Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in IMAX 3D maybe tomorrow or on Tuesday after our Final Exams. And yes, as usual, I would be alone, FOREVER ALONE.

At around 11:30 am, I went to school to attend my only class-VE012. Then, the instructor just returned to us the results of the personality and emotional quotient test. I badly wished the time to move forward real fast. Then, before 1 pm, I went out of the classroom and saw my friend that was supposed to come with me at MOA and see the movie. We were dismissed at 1 pm and I waited for her for nearly 30 mins outside our classroom but she didn’t come. So, I left and rode a bus going to Buendia. By the way I must thank some of my friends here in Tumblr for giving me the correct route/direction going to MOA by car or by bus. So, yeah, I ended up as a Forever Alone guy today. When I arrived at Buendia, I took the stairs with no idea that it is leading to the LRT station at Gil Puyat. Instead of turning back, I just continued walking up the stairs and decided to ride the LRT and just drop off at the nearest station next to Gil Puyat. So I arrived at the Vito Cruz station and rode again the LRT to return to Gil Puyat. FUUU, I just realized that I just spent 30 Pesos.
And I am one ride closer to my destination. After arriving at Gil Puyat, I just let my feet bring me anywhere until I heard barkers shouting, “MOA, MOA, Mall Of Asia”. I followed the crowd and saw those cute minicabs. I took the front seat. Minutes later, I saw the sea and I knew that I am on the right direction. So, I arrived there less than an hour before the 4:40 pm schedule. I planned to stroll around the mall first but it turned out that I made the perfect decision to go straight first to IMAX. When I entered, the IMAX lobby was crowded. The line for the ticket is long as well as for the claiming of the free popcorn. I fell in line to get my ticket that I paid in advance. After that, I picked the free snack. 20 minutes before the showing, I sat first on the lobby. Luckily, two of my elementary friends were there so I sat with them and had some chat. Too bad, their seat is so far from mine. Theirs is at G22 and G23 and mine is at M5 but hey, it turned out that I am not that forever alone! LOL. After some time, we decided to enter the cinema.
When we entered the cinema, we were like ‘ooohhh’ because it is really huge. Hey, it’s my (and I think their) first time so deal with it! Three christmas songs later and the lights inside started to dim. I was expecting to see many trailers since most of the movies today are having their IMAX counterparts but it was only TRON’s that was shown. But it’s ok. By the way, Tron’s trailer is pretty wicked too and it’s in 3D! Later on, the Warner Bros. logo showed up. I don’t know if it’s just me but when it appeared on the screen, I felt uneasy or weird…I don’t know, perhaps, sad. Then the movie, at last. At first I hated Steve Kloves (Writer) for removing a lot of scenes from the book. Some of those are the scenes at the preparation for the wedding, the dramatic farewell of the Dursleys with Potter, the wedding itself, some details of the chase scene, some scene at the Ministry of Magic, action inside the 12 Grimmauld Place, and the fucking invisibility cloak! Why didn’t he, Harry, use it? And why was Harry not disguised at the wedding? Ok, nevermind. But on the latter part of the film, I thought the writer and the director did a really great job. Especially on the scene where Ron had just left Harry and Hermione, then Hermione felt really sad and Harry started dancing with her. I know that scene was meant to lighten up the really dark mood inside the cinema but it made me teary-eyed. There are many scenes in the movie that made me feel the same way too. It has some moments of laughter though. I don’t know, but I had a f*cking weird feeling at the cinema this evening. Aside from the missing scenes that I mentioned earlier, this movie, is the best adaptation so far. It is really great. Then, I was able to see again my favorite characters-Bellatrix and Dobby. The action that took place at the Malfoy Manor is creepy in so many ways. And oh, the animation of the Tale of The Three that was backed-up by Hermione’s narration is LE-wait for it-GENDARY. The movie ended by banging the audience with a nerve-chilling cliff-hanger.
I really didn’t expected it to end there. It seemed like the time had stopped by the moment the WB logo appeared. It didn’t feel like I was sitting there for nearly 3 hours. Also, I think this movie would be impossible to be appreciated by people who were not able to follow the series or at least read the final book. Overall, this movie is epic. :)
